What should I bring to the convention?
While it varies from artist to artist, it's a good idea to have paper and pencils on hand for taking down information.
It's a very good idea to have business cards with your contact information on it. You don't have to place these on your table directly if you choose not to, but have them available to hand out for commissions or interested fans.
Can I eat at my table?
The convention centre prohibits food on the convention floor. However, food can be consumed in the hospitality room.
Is there somewhere I can relax for a while?
The hospitality room for artists allows you to rest away from the public. You will require an artist or artist assistant wristband to get into the room.
Can I get internet access or an electrical outlet for my table?
Internet access and power are available from the convention center at an additional fee. Please contact the artist coordinator to arrange for power or internet access.
What does my table payment go toward?
Your table payment primarily pays for the table and chair rental from the convention centre, as well as the cost of signage and wristbands.
I have another question. Who do I contact?
Email artists@cccomiccon.com with your question, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
Artist Alley Set-Up
ORANGE PASSENGER ELEVATOR
If you have a backpack or portfolio with your artwork, you can use the ORANGE elevator at the corner of Edmonton St. and St. Mary Ave. Access is also available via the underground parkade. This is a passenger elevator; therefore, anything on wheels or in a box has to go up using the freight elevator.
FREIGHT ELEVATOR
The freight elevator is on the first floor and second floor near the Edmonton St. and St. Mary Ave. junction. Please make sure you close the grates when you exit the elevator otherwise it'll stay stuck on what ever floor it's on and nobody else will be able to use it.
If you are parking in the underground, the freight elevator is accessible only on the 1st parking level across from the orange elevator.
LOADING DOCK
If you NEED to use the loading dock because you have a truck full of stuff, you NEED to contact us at info@c4con.com so we can book you a time. Don't just show up and say you're here please; the security staff won't let you in.
To use the loading dock, enter up the ramp located on Edmonton St. and park in one of the seven stalls of the loading dock. If you are early for your time frame, you will need to wait. Once you have unloaded your items and taken them to your tables, you need to move your vehicle. You can park in the parkade across the street or the underground parkade of the Convention Centre.
EDMONTON ST. LOADING DOCK
If you want to use the loading dock on the corner of Edmonton St. and St. Mary Ave., you can, and use the freight elevator. We will not have anyone manning the area downstairs, but someone will be in the freight elevator.
UNDERGROUND PARKING
We will have a limited number of parking passes for sale. These are good for the underground parking lot only. They cost $10.00 per day, and allow you to park your vehicle for the entire day. There are NOT good for in-out access.
REGISTRATION
Our registration team is location beside the ORANGE elevator on the 3rd floor. They will show you where your tables are, get you your passes and give you any pertinent information that you need. I have attach the floor plan as distributed at the October 16 Open Meeting but it is subject to change. Final table arrangements will be issued at SET UP.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers will be available to move stuff off the loading dock, however, display set-up is up to you.
